The first round of this year's XCO Canada Cup, scheduled for May 27-28, at Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, was postponed after severe flooding in the Charlevoix region damaged local infrastructure. Organizers had hoped to reschedule the event to later in the year, but have now announced that they have had to cancel the event for this year.

"We made this decision after carefully evaluating all available options" confirms Éric Simard, co-president of Vélo Charlevoix. "The floods that hit our region caused considerable damage to local infrastructure, including at Camping Le Genévrier, the location of our event. Despite our best efforts to find alternative solutions, it became clear that holding the event under such circumstances would be impractical."

"We fully understand that this decision may cause disappointment. We share this feeling with you, because our team of enthusiasts has been organizing these events for 25 years now. We would like to emphasize that we remain committed to providing an exceptional experience for our attendees."

"We would like to warmly thank all the participants, sponsors, partners and volunteers who support this event year after year. Your enthusiasm and commitment are invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for your understanding of this situation beyond our control. We also thank Les Sources Joyeuses for their collaboration in the development of an alternative plan. We would also like to inform you that we are trying to offer a Charlevoix Cup presented by Pharmacie Jean Coutu - Lyne Dufour branch on this site towards the end of the season. We will announce the date soon. The Grands Rendez-Vous des Petits presented by Desjardins will be moved at the same time, but must be adapted to meet the circumstances."

"We thank you once again for your understanding and continued support. We are determined to overcome this challenge and come back even stronger next year!"
